Parking Mobility leverages mobile phone technology to empower persons with disabilities to find accessible parking and to identify when people park in those spaces who do not have proper identification. Parking Mobility shares this data gathered (pictures, video, GPS location) with municipalities in exchange for a share of the infraction revenues collected by these municipalities. This revenue is then charitably distributed to strengthen and promote the community of persons with disabilities.

PROBLEM
Accessible parking is a daily problem facing the 50 million North Americans with disabilities:

  • Persistence ineligible use of accessible parking
  • Accessible parking typically located near places of consumption (e.g., shopping malls) as oppose to places of employment

Through the use of patent-pending, mobile technologies which will be a freely distributed application on smartphones such as the iPhone and Blackberry, individuals will be able to locate accessible parking. Users will crowd-source both the locations of parking spaces and reporting of infractions.
