Michael Haynes
Michael is currently the Executive Director of the Lone Star Paralysis Foundation and Director of the Seton Brain & Spine Recovery Center. Previously, Michael spent over 17 years with St. David’s Medical Center working with the St. David’s Community Health Foundation establishing community programs focused on empowering youths and adults with disabilities through athletics and other active pursuits.
During that time he was Manager of Rehabilitation Services at St. David’s Rehabilitation Center, and he established and was president of the Austin Adaptive Sports Center. Michael currently serves on the Texas Governor’s Advisory Council on Physical Fitness, Austin Mayor’s Fitness Council, USTA Texas Section Wheelchair Tennis Committee and is the President of the Gulf Coast Conference of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association. He is a former internationally ranked wheelchair tennis athlete and is an adapted fitness instructor with Disabled Sports USA and a Health Fitness Instructor with the American College of sports Medicine.
Michael has received numerous local, state and national accolades and appointments for his efforts, leadership and advocacy. Michael received a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin.
